Marta Leads the Sol to a 2-0 Win over FC Sky Blue

Marta nets a pair as Sol defeats Sky Blue FC, 2-0

Marta netted her first WPS goals, just before halftime, against Sky Blue FC. The 2-0 game was on Sunday afternoon in front of a sold out crowd of 6,053 fans at the TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater, N.J.

Marta’s effort came in the closing minutes of the first half. In the 42nd minute, she took advantage of a giveaway and netted a shot under Sky Blue FC goalkeeper Jenni Branam. Then in the 44th minute, Han Duan set up the second goal for Marta to bring in from close range.

Marta and the Sol continue their trend of playing to large crowds. Let's hope this continues and the crowds sell out in the smaller stadiums and continue to build in the larger ones.

Great game Sol!

Marta Mania

The Los Angeles Sol crowd went wild for Marta at the Inaugural Game of the Women's Pro Soccer season. Section 119 in the corner of the Home Depot Stadium in Carson, California is dubbed Marta's Maniacs. Stopping by her section after the game, Marta's Maniacs gave her a hero's welcome.

On her way off the field, Marta signed a few Soccer balls and too time to wave and greet her fans in the general seating too. Women's Soccer seems to be a bit more interactive than the male version of the sport.

Here's to more interacting with the Fans! Thanks Marta!
